DAY BY DAY

At first sight

I knew it was true

I was sure

I desired to be with you

I came to you as a close friend

But I was growing closer

Towards the end

My feelings were strong

High in pride

Then I was scared

I would be denied

I kept my distance

So I wouldn't be there

I planned a quick dash for your heart

But then again

I didn't think it was smart

Your smiles and expressions

Were so appealing

I struggled in vain

To keep back my feelings

Now you're gone

Went your separate way

But I'll still think of you
