MOMMY CAN YOU SEE ME

Why can't you see me crying,

Mommy?

Can't you see me?

When I fell and

Scraped my knee,

You picked me up.

You washed the tears from

My face.

And put a band-aid

On it's place.

How can I show you

The pain within?

I've tried.

When I didn't like the lotion,

You couldn't ask why?

Oh Mommy! Please help me.

I need you.

Don't you wonder

Why I am quiet?

Don't you wonder

Why I am shy?

I don't much play

With other children.

No matter how

Much I try

Don't you wonder why?

I cried when you made me prance

In front of strangers

In my bathing suit?

Oh Mommy!!

I need you,

Please open your eyes!

These were all of

My cries of help to you,

You passed them all

Right by.

Oh mommy! I forgive you,

I know that you were young,

You yourself didn't have it easy.

Oh mommy!! hear me crying now.

Please see who I am.

I am a survivor,

And I need you as my friend.
